Ryan Giggs heaps praise on Arsenal star after draw against Manchester United

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has heaped praise on the finishing from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against the Red Devils at Old Trafford. The Gunners came up with a defensive formation for the game and Aubameyang was left a frustrated figure upfront for vast stages of the opening half.

In the second period, the north London side had to make more forward runs after they were a goal behind and Aubameyang made the difference with a superb dink shot past goalkeeper David de Gea. The goal was initially ruled as offside by the assistant referee but following a review through the VAR, the decision was reversed with Aubameyang clearly played onside by Harry Maguire.

Speaking after the game, Giggs was impressed with the finishing of Aubameyang, who beat De Gea at the near post with his deft left-footed finish, he said: “It’s a good pass from the young lad, Saka, right into his path and it’s a fantastic finish with his left foot. A little dink, that’s a goalscorer’s finish. He doesn’t panic, he’s calm and it’s against David de Gea who is one of the best shot-stoppers in the world. It was a brilliant finish.”

With the stalemate, the Gunners managed to go unbeaten for the second straight league game at Old Trafford and that has not previously happened since 2000. The north London giants have also been able to propel into the fourth position ahead of West Ham United on the number of goals scored and that should satisfy a section of the fans.
Unai Emery’s side are scheduled to face Standard Liege in the midweek Europa League game at the Emirates before hosting Bournemouth in the league. The manager will most certainly rotate the squad for the former of those games and the likes of Kieran Tierney, Hector Bellerin, and Rob Holding could feature.
