Craig Bellamy wants Liverpool to Enjoy Busy Transfer Window

Former Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy claims that his former club need to go through a busy transfer window in order to be competitive over the course of the season.

Bellamy has seen the club bring in the likes of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke. However, the transfer activity by Liverpool has been pale in comparison with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City. As a result, the club are facing the prospect of struggling to cope with the demands of the four different competitions, according to Bellamy. During his time at Anfield, Bellamy did not enjoy the best of success.

He says that this Liverpool team have the potential to win a major trophy or two in the next couple of years, but he says that the club has to invest heavily in the transfer market. After the addition of new resources from the Premier league TV money, Liverpool are capable of signing several players even for over £ 50 million.

Yet, the club have been taking measured approaches in the market and this has resulted in manager Jurgen Klopp being unable to field a number of new players in the first team. There might be a major blow in store for Liverpool if Philippe Coutinho leaves the club in the last few days of the window. Hence, Bellamy urges Liverpool to sign several players in the last week.

“We’ve known the areas Jurgen Klopp needs to address for a long time, and he’s clearly aware of it, too, with the players he’s tried to draft in this summer. They still need more at centre back and a defensive midfielder would be a key signing for me.Defensively, Liverpool have had a problem for years now. You will still get chances against them.Against the top teams, you have to work very hard to create an opportunity. However, Liverpool will always give you at least one chance in a game. Sometimes, that’s one chance too many,” said Bellamy.
