Craig Bellamy hails Christian Eriksen as a world-class player

Former Liverpool star Craig Bellamy believes Christian Eriksen can be classified as a world-class player after having watched his efforts for club and country over the past few years. The Denmark international was initially hit and miss kind of midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur but he has made immense progress under Mauricio Pochettino to become one of the first members on the team sheet.

As such, Bellamy has no doubts over the progress of the former Ajax graduate and the Welshman believes the midfielder could be put on the bracket among the world’s best, he said:“I don’t think I’m over-exaggerating this but I do class him as a world class player – a top bracket player. I really do, he’s that good. You can see with Denmark that everything goes through him; if they’re going to create anything going forward it goes through him so he made the difference in that team.”

As highlighted, “Eriksen has become a crucial player for the national team more than at Spurs and he was influential towards“ them progressing to the round of 16 stage of the summer World Cup. He has continued with the same vein of form during the ongoing campaign and he was most recently part of the Denmark side which “earned promotion to League “A after getting the better of Wales and Republic of Ireland in their group.

Meanwhile, at the club level, Eriksen was hampered for around a month with a chronic stomach problem but he has managed to recover completely from the issue since the start of November. His recent start in the Premier League came against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium and it was one to remember with him contributing two assists in a comfortable 3-1 triumph for the north London giants. Spurs are currently third on the standings with 30 points after 13 matches.
