Bellamy thinks Eriksen is destined for Spanish giants

Former Welsh striker Craig Bellamy has been lavishing the plaudits on Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen and believes it is only a matter of time before the playmaker leaves the UK shores for either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The Danish maestro has been in fantastic form for Spurs this season and they have surged into the top three in the Premier League.

He initially had a difficult time settling into the domestic game when he joined the North Londoners in 2013 when Andre Villas-Boas was in charge.

Once current boss Mauricio Pochettino took over, he has blossomed into one of the elite players in the top league. His mix of outstanding technical ability, graceful movement and eye for goal have been pivotal in the rise of Spurs during the last couple of seasons, where they have finished runners-up both times.

The profile of Eriksen only went up after his dazzling display against Real Madrid in the Champions League culminating in him scoring the third goal of the night that ultimately finished off the Spanish giants.

Bellamy spoke of his appreciation of Eriksen on Sky Sports nightly football show, ‘The Debate’ saying,
“I remember him at Ajax and I always felt he had the ability to go on to Barcelona, he is that type of player, like Madrid when he was at Zagreb and he was able to come over to Spurs.

“I can see him being at Spurs for a certain period and then Real Madrid or Barcelona because I believe his quality is that high.”

Eriksen is certainly going to be busy man in the coming weeks.

He has the small matter of a two-legged World Cup playoff against the Republic of Ireland and will then will follow that with a North London derby against Arsenal. Huge games ahead for the talented playmaker.
